Point Abino Light House

A National Historic Site

The Point Abino Lighthouse is on the rocky north shore of Lake Erie in Fort Erie. It was constructed in 1917 by the Department of Marine and Fisheries in response to increased traffic at the east end of Lake Erie, located between the high and low water marks on the rocky shoreline of Point Abino.

Since its decommissioning in 1995, the Point Abino Lighthouse was designated as a 'Classified' Heritage Building. In addition, the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office established it as a National Historic Site and a Classified Federal Building.

The Lighthouse consists of a deck, tower and fog alarm building.

Note: No vehicles or pets will be allowed past the gated area.
